Christopher Alan Young (born June 12, 1985) is a country music singer and American songwriter. In 2006, he was declared the winner of the Nashville Star Television program, a singing competition broadcast on the USA Network.
After winning, he signed a contract with RCA Records Nashville, releasing his self-titled debut album that same year. It produced two singles in Hot Country Songs with "Drinkin 'Me Lonely" and "You're Gonna Love Me". Her second album, The Man I Want to Be , was released September 1, 2009. It includes singles "Voices", "Gettin 'You Home (The Black Dress Song)", and title track, all of which go to number 1. Young's third album, Neon , produced two more numbers in "Tomorrow" and "You" in 2011 and the top 20 hit songs "I Can Take It from Ada" in 2012. Follow-up, 2013's AM , producing three new singles with the top 5 hit "Aw Naw", "Who I Am with You", and "Lonely Eyes". His fifth album, I'm Comin 'Over , was released on November 13, 2015. In 2017, Young earned one of the stunning achievements in country music: becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Initial years
Chris Young was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on June 12, 1985. When he grew up he attended the Trinity United Methodist church. His grandfather, Richard Yates, is a player in Louisiana Hayride. He showed interest in music from an early age, performing in various theatrical productions of children; while attending Oakland High School (Tennessee), she sings in her high school choir and starts playing at a local club. In 2000, he performed with his high school Drumline High School in a show titled "A Night at the Palladium", where he was a mariachi singer. The group performed at the Winter Guard International Tournament in Ohio that year. While attending college, he went on a tour, performing over 150 shows in a year.

2005-07: Nashville Star and self-titled debut album
2006 Chris Young is a home singer for Cowboys Dance Hall, Arlington, TX. Park Scott and Keith Swan told Chris that he had to audition for Nashville Star in Houston, Texas, he entered the show and won in 2006. His victory earned him a contract with RCA Records Nashville and later that year, he released their first single "Drinkin 'Me Lonely". It peaked at number 42 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and served as the first single for her self-titled debut album, produced by Buddy Cannon. The album's second single, "You're Gonna Love Me", peaked at number 48.
2008-10: Voices EP and < i> The Man I Want To Be
In May 2008, Young released his third single, "Voices". At the CMA Music Festival in June, he promoted the single by sending an e-mail to visitors at his Music Fest booth. In August, "Voices" became his first Top 40 entry on the Billboard charts, peaking at 37.
Her second album, The Man I Want to Be, was released in September 2009. The album was produced by James Stroud and includes cover versions of Waylon Jennings â € Å"Rose in Paradiseâ € (as a duet with Willie Nelson) and " Rainy Night "Tony Joe White in Georgia".
In October 2009, Young's fourth single, "Gettin 'You Home (The Black Dress Song)", became the first single of number 1. The album's title track was released in November 2009. Both it and the re-release of "Voices" went to number 1.

Young released their single "Tomorrow" in February 2011. This became his fourth straight number 1. The album is Neon released in July 2011. The album includes the fifth consecutive number 1, "You", the title track , and "I Can Take It from There". In August 2012, "Tomorrow" became his first sole platinum.
In 2013, Young served as Ambassador to the CMA Series Creator who exhibited in Belfast, Dublin, London, and Paris in an effort to show country music abroad.
The first single from Young's third studio album, "Aw Naw", was released to state radio on May 13, 2013. It peaked at number 3 on the Airplay Country chart in November 2013. The album, AM , was released on September 17 2013. The album's second single, "Who I Am with You", was released on January 20, 2014. It peaked at number 2 on the Airplay Country chart in August 2014. The album's third single, "Lonely Eyes", was released to state radio on August 25 2014. It reached number 2 on the Airplay Country chart in April 2015.
2015-present: I Come More , Definitely Christmas and Sleep Loss
On May 12, 2015, Young released a new single titled "I'm Comin 'Over". It was the lead single from her fifth studio album of the same name, released on November 13, 2015. The same month, "I'm Comin 'Over" became her sixth single on the State charts, and her first album since "You" in February 2012. Young plays the 14-show I'm Comin 'Over Tour at the end of 2016 to support the album. The album's second single, "Think of You" with Cassadee Pope, was released on January 4, 2016. It reached number one on the Country charts in May 2016. The third single, "Sober Saturday Night" - a duet with Vince Gill - was released on June 6 2016. It reached number one in Country Airplay in March 2017. Young released the country's Christmas album, It Must Be Christmas , in October 2016. His first single on the upcoming album, "Losing Sleep" was released to state radio on May 12, 2017. Young announced his album also titled Losing Sleep on August 23, 2017. It reached number one on Country Airplay on February 10, 2018.
On August 29, 2017, Young was invited by state legend Vince Gill to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. He was formally inducted by Brad Paisley.
Personal life
On August 13, 2013, Young was on his way to a tour date in Montana when he experienced a septic shock from a small wound in his infected leg. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Denver. The medical team immediately started Young's treatment, and he underwent surgery on August 14 to treat the infection. Young returns home under his doctor's care. As expected, his mobility was affected by surgery and his doctor asked him to wait a full week after surgery to continue the tour. Young continues on Aug. 22.
In June 2014, Young canceled a show at the CMA Music Festival after accidentally cutting off his left hand with a kitchen knife. Cutting required surgery to reconnect the tendon in hand.
Philanthropy
Young has supported Little Kids Rock by donating items to organizations for auction, raising money to put instruments in the hands of children. He has been a major supporter for Stars For Stripes collecting $ 35,000 for the organization. He supports the Children's Hospital St. Jude, and has raised money for it by sponsoring a tree in the Gaylord Opryland Resort Annual Tree Hall. On September 8, 2014, Young donated $ 25,000 from his own money, along with $ 5,000 from his fan club, to the Nashville School of Arts. At the end of August 2017 he set up a fundraising site for Houston to help with the massive flood caused by Hurricane Harvey. [3]
