Denard Xavier Robinson (born September 22, 1990) is an American running footballer who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of the NFL Draft 2013. He was awarded the 2009 Chicago Tribune Silver Football as the Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten Conference and was chosen by the American Football Writers Association as the first team of the All-American. He also arranged the Big Ten record single-game for the yard rush by quarterback and became the only player in NCAA Division I FBS history to both graduate for 200 yards and rush for 200 yards in regular season matches twice.
As a junior in 2011, Robinson led a Michigan team that bounced back to an 11-2 record and victory over Virginia Tech at Sugar Bowl 2012. Nickname
Robinson started playing piss football at the age of 10 and played the game with his shoes, earning him the nickname "Shoelaces" as a child. Those who saw him play at Westside Park in Deerfield Beach remembered
The kids will use their shoes on the tackle, and he'll come to the huddle just with socks. His coach did not hold up at first and neither did his parents. They tie a bracelet around her shoe. When that did not work, they tried athletic recordings. They even rolled up his socks on his shoes. He is a miracle, and he's not even finished with sixth grade yet.
Robinson continued to play football without tying his shoelaces and was later known as "Shoelace." A reporter who visits his family to watch the Michigan game says, "For everyone in Deerfield Beach - everyone except his mother, it's - no Denard, just shoelaces." Robinson high school coach Art Taylor explained the reason for receiving the practice
After 25 years of training, if the boy can throw it 90 meters in the air and accurate and the boy can run as fast as he... as long as he feels comfortable, not tying the shoelace, fine with me. The boy has been doing that all his life, why mess it up?
At the college level, his trainers at the University of Michigan also received Robinson training. After learning that Robinson could run as far as 100 meters in 10.4 seconds with his shoes released, Michigan midfielder Rod Smith called him "the cursed thing I've ever seen" and added, "Whoever runs that fast I will not tell him how to tie his shoes. "Robinson wore Adidas Reggie2 Superfly shoes with Velcro straps to secure his legs.

High school career
As a ninth grader, Robinson tries to earn a place as a formidable defender for the university football team at Deerfield Beach High School in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The team's defense co-ordinator at the time was a former Buffalo Bills defender, Manny Martin, who was also algebra teacher Robinson. Martin later recalled that he had an experienced defensive back line, but Robinson "was always in my ear: 'I can do it.'" Robinson did not win a place on the university team and instead played as a quarterback for the junior-varsity team as a ninth grader.
Robinson became the starting quarterback for the Deerfield Beach university team as a second-year student and filled the position for three years from 2006 to 2008. Deerfield Beach's head coach Art Taylor recalled, "Once he stepped on the field, the second year he played university, we know we have something special. "
In the 2007 state semifinal match played at the Orange Bowl, Robinson led his team into two disappointing points at Miami Northwestern, the country's top high school team. While warming up, Robinson noticed that a Miami Northwestern midfielder had attached a photo of Robinson to the front of his helmet. Robinson started to laugh and told the player, "You think it scares us?" Robinson put Deerfield into the lead, 12-7, but Miami Northwestern completed a 99-yard touchdown drive with 18 seconds left to give them a 14-12 victory.
In October 2008 against St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Robinson is responsible for six goals in one game, passes for 342 yards and five touchdowns and scores for 54 yards and touchdowns. As a three-year starter for Deerfield Beach, Robinson reached nearly 6,000 meters total offense with 4,784 passing yards (262 for 576 passing) and 1,132 yards (5.2 meters per carry).
In addition, Robinson competes on track for Deerfield Beach. In March 2009, he ran a 100 meter sprint in 10.44 seconds, and finished third in a 100 meter run in Florida 4A Track & amp; Championship Championship. He also ran a 40-yard dash in 4.32 seconds. He is also a member of the USA State High School Athletic Association 2008 winner team of 4x4 meter relay.
College recruitment
As a high school student, ESPN puts Robinson seventh in the country as a public athlete and 101 regardless of his position. Rivals.com ranked 14th as a general athlete and 188th overall. Scout.com categorized it as a cornerback and ranked it 16th in the country. Robinson accepted scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia, Kansas State, Michigan, and other programs. Michigan originally recruited Robinson as a defense, and Robinson refused. Robinson recalls that it was one of his goals for playing quarterbacks at the college level. After observing his passing abilities, Michigan recruited Robinson as a quarterback. On February 4, 2009, Robinson announced that he had signed the National Letter of Intent to attend Michigan.
College career
football season 2009
Robinson enrolled at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology in the fall of 2009. During Michigan's summer camp 2009 summer, Robinson was in competition for an early midfield position with fellow students Tate Forcier and junior Nick Sheridan. Forcier, who signed up early and participated in spring training, was named early quarterback, but Robinson saw significant play time as a true freshman, appearing in all 12 games.
On September 5, 2009, in Michigan's season opener against Western Michigan, Robinson scored on his first college snap (groping). When ESPN television broadcast focused on unbound straps, Robinson took a snap in a rifle formation, ran to the right, broke the tackle on the 40-yard line, then cut left and ran for 43 yards for the touchdown.
Two weeks later against Eastern Michigan, he played with a quarterback draw for 13 and 36 yards touchdowns, though he also threw two interception.
In October 10, Michigan's game against Iowa, Robinson replaced Forcier in the fourth quarter with the team trailing 30-21. He led the team on a 59-yard scoring drive capped by 3-yard touchdown run alone with 3:16 remaining to cut the lead to 30-28. However, on the next drive, Robinson threw an interception on a 31-yard Michigan line with 44 seconds left in the game.
Robinson led Wolverines on four scoring drives against Delaware State, throwing two of his first pass goals and scoring a hurried touchdown as well. The only start of the season came on November 14 as running back against Wisconsin.
During the 2009 season, Robinson completed 14 of 31 passes for 188 yards and two passing goals. He also ran as far as 351 yards and five goals in 69 experiments.
season 2010 song
Robinson also competed for the athletics team and the Michigan team during his first year. In January 2010, Robinson told a reporter, "When I was recruited I always wanted to run and play football, which helped me move faster on the soccer field." Michigan track coach Fred LaPlante said Robinson had one of the 10 fastest 100-meter school time in the United States in 2009 and described Robinson Sprinter as "one of the best four or five in the Big Ten." LaPlante emphasizes Robinson's "speed"
One thing in football you do not see on the track is speed. He is very fast and his lateral movement is unreliable and his ability to go in one direction and into another. The perception people have is their speed. It's not speed, it's speed. "
Robinson won the 60-meter dashboard in his college debut in "The Dual" against Ohio State on January 16, 2010. It was 6.81 time to be the best by Wolverine for the season. She finished fifth on the 60 meter dash at Meyo Invitational on February 6, 2010. She finished ninth in the event at the 2010 Big Ten Indoor Championships in late February 2010, failing to qualify for the final with four thousandths of a second.
LaPlante remembers being frantic during a training race when Robinson "ran so fast that he had trouble withholding bends." Concerned about the injury to the football team quarterback, LaPlante shouted, "Denard! Please, do not do that again! I'll be fired in 2 seconds!" LaPlante recalled Robinson's reaction: "He has a big smile on his face."

soccer season 2010
Pre-season competition
During spring training in April 2010, Robinson impressed coaches and observers, leading to speculation that Robinson overtook Forcier as an early quarterback. The competition continued until the end of August and early September 2010. In early September 2010, Angelique Chengelis profiled Robinson on The Detroit News: "The prevailing belief is that Robinson has worked hard enough and developed enough to get the job He took a significant step in spring training, and from all accounts, he showed his colleagues an incredible devotion to offseason conditioning and watching movies, all in the interest of sharpening his game and increasing Michigan's chances.
Even on the morning of the Michigan season opener, The Chicago Sun-Times reported that "the mystery surrounding who will become the No. 1 Wolverine quarterback is the main storyline, with coach Rich Rodriguez guarding his decision.. "
Total violation records against UConn
Robinson started the Michigan season opener against Connecticut. In the first half, he rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on 15 brought an average of 8.7 yards per carry. He completed the game with 383 yards of total offense, including 186 passing yards (19 of 22 passes) and a 197-meter rushing on 29 carry (6.9 meters per carry). Robinson who brings forth against UConn is most often done by Michigan's quarterback. He also broke the Michigan single-game record with total fouls with 383 yards. For his efforts Robinson won the Big Ten Conference of the Week, AT & amp; T ESPN All-America Players This Week, and National Footballer Walter Camp, Offensive Player of the Week.
Less than a week after his appearance in the Connecticut game, the New York Daily News wrote that Robinson has earned the status of a "hero cult": "He only started one game in quarterbacks for Michigan, but Denard Robinson has become a cult hero for faithful Wolverine. "
502 meters total violation of Notre Dame
In the start of both in quarterback, Robinson brought Michigan to a 28-24 win over Notre Dame against his traditional rivals. He finished the game with 502 of Michigan's 532 yard total offense (258 yards rushing and 244 passing yards), breaking the Michigan record he set early in his first. The record stands up to Devin Gardner reaching a total of 584 yards total offense on October 19, 2013 against Indiana. In the first half, Robinson made an 87-yard touchdown at that time (surpassed on September 19, 2015 by CJ Prosise) classed as the longest running of the struggle in the history of the 80-year history of the Notre Dame Stadium but remained the longest by visitors at Notre Dame Stadium Dame. He also scored the winner with 27 seconds left on a two-yard run, capping a 12-play, 72-yard drive. Robinson broke Mike Kafka's Big Ten Conference record to rush yard by quarterback and became the ninth quarterback in NCAA history (and the first since Pat White in 2006) to hurry and pass for over 200 yards in one game. His hasty total troop also occupies the all-time best position in any road game by any Michigan player, regardless of his position.
After the match, Brandon Graham, who played with Robinson in Michigan in 2009 and also played with Michael Vick in the Philadelphia Eagles told reporters that Robinson was faster than Vick: "Both are very fast, I just think Vick is older; he is not so fast like Shoelace, I think Shoelace is faster than Vick, but Vick, he got away, he's still very fast.I think Shoelace might get it in a few steps. "
Robinson's performance received praise from the national media. The Wall Street Journal calls Robinson "the young star of the 2010 season" and draws attention to his "total rushed absurd." Columnist Mitch Albom writes: "Denard Robinson redefined the term 'offensive weapon' on Saturday against Notre Dame." ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit notes "confident aura" around Robinson
The body language he showed was, "I'm a winner." She was small, but her heart could almost see her throbbing through her uniform. And then he, like all the great, he played with pride like, "You can not stop me."
Gregg Doyel, a national columnist for CBSSports.com, proclaims Robinson as a front runner for the Heisman Trophy: "Denard Robinson has earned the right to a leading position in the Heisman race. It's not close and if he stays healthy I fully expect him to walk across the stage in New York City in December and took home the cup. "
For his performance against Notre Dame, Robinson was selected for the second consecutive week as Walter Camp's Worst National Footballer of the Week, The ESPN All-America AT & amp; in This Week, the Big Ten Offensive Players This Week, and CBSSports.com Player of the Day. He was the first player to earn Walter Camp's honor two weeks in a row, and the fourth did so twice in a season. He was also named Capital Impact Impact Performance of the Week. CBS Sports' Verne Lundquist joked: "He might be the first to win Davey O'Brien and Doak Walker."
Robinson hit 455 yards rushing and 885 yards total fouls in the first two matches of the 2010 season, which leads the FBS Division I. During the first two weeks of the season, Robinson himself has won 87 out of 120 FBS teams with total offense.
Indiana Indiana: 494 yards total violation
Playing against Indiana in the fifth game of the season, Robinson reached a total of 494 yards of total offense, the second-highest single highest game in Michigan history. In Michigan's second game of tussle, Robinson ran 72 yards for a touchdown. In the second half of the second half, Robinson did a 70-yard touchdown to Junior Hemingway, his longest career, to give Michigan a 28-21 advantage. On Michigan's next drive, Robinson compounded a sustained knee injury the previous week against Bowling Green and out of the game for the rest of the drive. He returned to the game and led Michigan on a 65-yard touchdown drive that won the game in stoppage time. With 21 seconds remaining, Robinson completed a 32-yard pass to the 4-yard line. In the next game, Robinson scored in a 4-yard touchdown run with 17 seconds remaining.
With his performance against Indiana, Robinson became the first player in the history of Division I FBS which has two regular season games with 200 yards rushed and 200 yards pass. The other seven have achieved achievements (including Pat White, Vince Young and El Randle El), but no one does it more than once in the regular season. Vince Young achieved this feat once in the regular season and once at the Rose Bowl.
After the Indiana game, From Nowkhah writes in ESPN's "Heisman Watch" column that Robinson "escaped with the Heisman Trophy" and compared it to the 1988 Heisman Trophy winner Barry Sanders
We have not seen this type of football playmaker since... Barry Sanders? I'm not saying Robinson reminds me of Sanders. (How could the quarterback remind me of running back?) But there is a surprising resemblance between small playmakers in their speed, elusiveness and speed. So is the effect that both people have on my sensitivity about what is right and wrong. Being the dominant on the soccer field somehow feels wrong. This is not fair.
On October 4, 2010, Robinson was named the Great Ten Player of the Week of the Week (for the third time in five weeks), and also received the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week award (for the second time in four weeks). After five matches, Robinson remained the nation's leading rusher in both yards total (905) and yards per game (181). He is also ranked fourth in the country with a 180 quarterback rating.

However, Robinson's individual performance was overshadowed by a loss of 20 points to Badgers.
In the last game of the regular season, Michigan lost by a margin of 30 points (37-7) against Ohio State in The Game. The decision to remain after coaching changes
After losing the end of the Michigan season at Gator Bowl 2011, head coach Rich Rodriguez was sacked and replaced by Brady Hoke. When Robinson thrived on a breach spread across Rodriguez, the coaching changes led to speculation that Robinson could transfer. In a video statement released by the University of Michigan, Robinson said he was seriously considering transferring and noting that Rodriguez was one of several coaches willing to give him a chance to play quarterback on the next level. Robinson explains his decision to stay in Michigan: "This is my family. This is my home now... I can not let it go." He also noted that he talked to his teammates and told them, "'You know, I can not leave you out there.' I've been around these guys for two years and we're tied up and it's like family here. Nothing like this. "
Preseason focus on adaptability to new violations
Robinson entered the 2011 season on watchlist for Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Award, Walter Camp Award, Paul Hornung Award, and Manning Award. In the weeks leading up to the 2011 season, the media focused on questions surrounding Robinson's ability to adapt to the pro-style attack carried out by the new offensive coordinator, Al Borges and also on Borges's desire to adjust his game plans to capitalize on Robinson's running ability. Robinson notes that running games will remain an option even in a passing situation, adding, "If nothing is open, a broken game is probably the hardest game to stop at college football - in any football."

After his final season in Michigan, Robinson declared that he was open to playing any position in the National Football League. Some suggested that he would have a better chance of being drafted by the NFL team if he switched to a cornerback, the receiver, ran back or kicked back because of his speed - 4.35 on the 40-yard dash. Mike Freeman of CBS Sports said his talent will be in vain on the side of the ball defense. Doug Flutie (Buffalo Bills) and Dieter Brock (Los Angeles Rams) are relatively successful quarterbacks in Robinson-like stature. Russell Wilson who currently plays as an early quarterback for Seattle Seahawks also has the same status with Robinson.
Robinson participates in the 2013 Senior Bowl in wide receivers. In the game, Robinson caught two bait for 21 yards and rushed the ball once to lose three yards. His appearances in the game and the previous training week were considered unimpressive and his draft stock fell into the final lap.
Robinson is the only Wolverine of the 2012-2013 team invited to participate in the NFL combined. He is not invited as a quarterback, but as a wide receiver, but he intends to throw and return his kickoffs and punts on his Pro Day. On Pro Day, he did not do quarterback exercises, but he did punts, made catches while running the route, and also did rehearsals. The scout concluded he had to be running back first before it developed into widening.
Pre-draft
Robinson's 40-yard official dash time of 4.43 is the tenth fastest on February 24 (quarterback, walk back and day wide receivers). After a disappointment as a recipient at the Senior Bowl, Robinson caught each bait during a gauntlet practice.
Robinson was selected by Jacksonville Jaguars in the 5th round of the NFL Draft 2013 with an overall selection of 135. He was selected as running back when his name was finally called. His position is referred to by the team as an "offensive weapon", which involves playing back runs, wide receivers, and kickoff returners. He also contributed as a quarterback in the Wildcat formation. In mid-season, they moved Robinson to the number two position on the depth chart when running back. On November 24, he tried to pass to Cecil Shorts III, but was broken by Johnathan Joseph of Houston Texans. It remains his sole career attempt on October 21, 2014. As a rookie, Robinson plays in all 16 games and reaches a total of 66 yards on 20 cars but there is no reception for Jaguars Jacksonville 2013.
