Everglades University , formerly known as American Flyers College , is a non-profit private university in Florida. Everglades offers undergraduate and master degree programs, both through online and on campus. The main campus is located in Boca Raton, with an additional branch located in another part of Florida.

Everglades University was originally named American Flyers College when it was founded in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., In 1990. In 1998, Arthur and Belinda Keizer bought American Flyers College then renamed Everglades College in 1999 after moving to Fort Lauderdale. They already belong to Keizer University.
Everglades College was founded in 2000 and established as a non-profit corporation in the state of Florida. Two years later, in 2002, the US Internal Revenue Service recognized Everglades College, Inc., as a 501 (c) (3), and Everglades College, Inc. non-profit company operated independently by the Supervisory Board.
In January 2003, the Florida Department of Education approved to open Sarasota Branch Campus of Everglades University. In December 2003, Everglades College, Inc. officially changed its name to Everglades University. In April 2004, the main campus of Everglades University was moved to Boca Raton, Florida. Later that year, the state of the Department of Education of Florida gave approval to open the Orlando Everglades University Branch Campus.
Everglades University has been accredited by the South High School Association and School Commissions at High School (SACSCOC) to provide bachelor and master degrees in 2010. A year later, Everglades College, Inc., the parent company of Everglades University, purchased Keizer University, a Floridian chain profit , which later became a nonprofit college.
In 2014, Everglades University was given the consent to open the Inaugural Off-Campus Campus Website of Sarasota Branch, in Tampa, Florida. The Everglades University was also granted approval to relocate the Orlando Branch Campus to Maitland, Florida. In 2015, the Everglades University received confirmation of their ten-year accreditation by the South High School Association and School School in High School.

Everglades University offers a mix of bachelor and master's degrees. Their website and other literature on the university specify that they have small class sizes, with students who primarily want to be educated while studying and/or adult learners. The university has a small graduate enrollment range between 1,000 and 2,000.
Each class is taken over a period of one month, with students taking one class at a time. This approach aims to focus student learning on an individual subject at a time when compared to traditional university models, where many modules are studied together. It has a selective acceptance policy, in which students are selected based on past admissions tests and student academic records. Fall revenue for 2016 is 74%.
Teaching and degrees
In 2016, Pearson announced that it has reached a partnership agreement with the Everglades to offer LEED certification through USGBC. This partnership also includes adding Introductory Sustainability courses, also certified by USGBC for all undergraduate degree programs.
Buildings and sites
Everglades University has four different campuses and online divisions in Florida. They are in Boca Raton, Orlando, Sarasota, and Tampa.
Boca Raton Campus
The university's main campus has been located in Boca Raton, Florida, since 2004. The university building is 37,000 square feet and includes offices, classrooms, computer labs, libraries and student rooms. The campus is known for fundraising efforts, with staff and previous students participating in Walk to Cure Arthritis, Creating a Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, collecting toys for Toys for Tots, and hosting multiple blood drives with OneBlood. The Boca Raton campus has awarded four Frione Family scholarships to individuals in the community. It also works with the Green Veteran group, which was co-founded by an EU alumnus, Brian J. Sales.
Boca Raton is also home to the Everglades University Online Division.
Orlando Campus
Orlando Everglades University Branch Campus is located on a 28,000 square foot building at Trafalgar Court, in Maitland, Florida. The campus was relocated from Altamonte Springs to Maitland on July 7, 2015, and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Maitland A. Dale McDonald. This facility accommodates offices, classrooms, computer labs, libraries, faculty rooms and student rooms. The University expects that due to its proximity to the metropolitan Orlando area that the campus will quickly evolve to 1,000 students, making it the largest Everglades University campus. Staff, lecturers, and students at Campus Boca Raton have participated in Walk to Cure Arthritis, Created a Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, collected toys for Toys for Tots, and hosted multiple blood drives with OneBlood.
Sarasota Campus â ⬠<â â¬
The 20-acre University of Everglades branch campus shares space with Keizer University. The campus is about 43,000 square feet, which includes offices, classrooms, libraries, two computer labs, student success labs, and two student sitting rooms. Both universities share libraries and learning areas, as well as auditoriums. This 20-hectare campus is bordered by Lake Osprey, a protected nature preserve, and a bird sanctuary. In 2017, the Sarasota campus installed a number of energy-efficient devices inside and around the campus, which includes two solar trees, smart car charging stations, solar panels located on the roof, and wind turbines. In 2014, the Sarasota campus opens the solar energy lab. The Solar Energy Teaching Lab is open to those interested in learning about solar energy devices and techniques. Everglades University is a member of the Sarasota County Green Business Partnership, and the Green Arrow Award.
Tampa Campus
Location Tampa Everglades University is part of the Sarasota Branch Campus. It is located in a three-story building, 66,000 square feet. Off-campus off-campus instructional sites offer libraries, computer labs, student rooms, bookstores, 17 bright classrooms, three laboratories, and 11 offices. This campus is close to several regional attractions, such as Busch Gardens, The Lowry Park Zoo, Historic Ybor City, and Downtown Tampa.
Local industry professionals from companies such as Duke Energy, Cancer Center H. Lee Moffitt, Nutrition Greenroots, and the Tampa Fire Rescue attend a consultation meeting three times a year. The Tampa campus is celebrating its second anniversary in January 2017.
Online
Located on the campus of Boca Raton, Online Division is considered by the university to be the fifth campus. Online division is the largest campus in terms of student population. Online Division offers guidance and counseling sessions of students one on one. Campuses participate in outreach activities and sustainable community activities. This includes community service events and initiatives such as Haiti's Haiti Aid Assistance to Donate to send important supplies, fundraising activities to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the drive to collect items for the Pet Rescue organization in South Florida. Online Division regularly organizes and participates in blood movers, Toys for Tots collection every year, and provides ongoing support for Kids in Distress (KIDS) from Broward and Palm Beach districts.
Student
Everglades University enrolls about 1,500 students in a given year. 95% of students work full time. 38% of the student body are minorities, with the majority of them being Hispanic. The school has 137 lecturers. There is one faculty member for every seven students.
Many classes meet at night and weekends and offer a busy schedule. Access to school facilities, such as libraries and student waiting rooms, is available to all students, including students who are online only.

Everglades University is accredited by the South High School Association and School Commissions in High School (SACSCOC) to provide bachelor and master degrees. Everglades University is a member of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF).

In 2018, U.S. News & amp; World Report ranked Everglades University as # 36 out of 110 "Regional Regional Ranks South" and as # 13 out of 14 "Best Colleges for Veterans". U.S. News & amp; World Report gave the university a weighted score of 49 out of 100.
Recognition
In 2016, Everglades University is recognized as the Winner of Education at the Green Arrow Awards. During the same year, the Everglades were among the winners at the LEEDership Awards for the Gulf Coast Region of Florida.
President Mollis is recognized for four consecutive years between 2014 and 2017 as one of the 10 Most Written Women Organizations in Florida. President Mollis is also recognized in 2012 as a Business Leader this year in Education. During the same year, it was recognized as one of the most affordable online MBA Entrepreneurship programs in the US.
