The Phoenix Polar Bears is an ice hockey team of Junior A Tier III Hockey-based sanctions in Phoenix, Arizona. Their host facility is the Coyotes Desert School Center in Chandler, Arizona. The Polar Bears are members of the Western States Hockey League but vacate their membership in the league when WSHL moved from USA Hockey in 2011.

Histori
Phoenix Polar Bears was formed as expansion team by Harry Mahood for the Western Hockey League in 1999. Until 2009, Mahood operates as the owner, general manager, and head coach of the Polar Bear and became one of the most successful franchises in the world. WSHL under his tenure. In 2011, the Polar Bear left the WSHL when the league dropped their US Hockey membership and joined the United Hockey Union. After folding, the franchise was sold and their WSHL membership license was transferred to Arizona Hockey Club, Inc. to create a junior hockey team Phoenix Knights.
In 2003, the team won the National Hockey Tier III Junior B USA Championship, beating St. Louis Jr. Blues, 1-0, after a perfect regular season record of 47-0. In 2002 and 2004, the team won a silver medal at the National Hockey Junior B National Tournament. In 2004, the Polar Bear received a National Play Fair Award at the National Tournament. Under Mahood, the Phoenix Polar Bears recorded 575 victories, seven WSHL Thorne Cup Championships, nine consecutive National Tournament performances, three unbeaten seasons in the WSHL game, one national unbeaten season in 2003, the 2004 National Play Fair award and more pass from 170 players to all levels of NHL, NCAA, CIAU, minor professional, major junior, and ACHA hockey. Hockey teen
Initially, youth hockey programs in Polar Ice, Peoria, Polar Ice Chandler and Polar Ice Gilbert were named for this team and called Jr. Polar Bears. They have teams ranging from Mites to Midget and compete annually throughout the United States.
Championship
Polar Bears has won seven Thorne Cups, awarded to the WSHL playoff champions in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2010.
In addition to the WSHL championship, the team won the Hockey Tier III Junior B National Championship in 2003, becoming runner-up in 2002, and third place in 2008.
