Stetson is a hat brand produced by John B. Stetson Company.
Founded in 1865, John B. Stetson Company begins when the founder heads west and creates an original hat from the West, "Boss of the Plains". This West Hat will be the cornerstone of Stetson's hat business and is still in production today.
Stetson eventually became the world's largest hat maker, generating over 3,300,000 caps per year in its 9 acre (36,000 m 2 ) plant in Philadelphia. In addition to Western hats and fashions, Stetson also produces fragrances, clothing, footwear, eyeglasses, belts, bourbon and other products that evoke historic West America.
Stetson University and Stetson University College of Law in Florida were named after John B. Stetson in 1899 for his contribution to school.

Later the license was transferred to another cap company in Texas.

Diversification
In the 1980s Stetson began to diversify, releasing the first Stetson cologne in 1981 and Lady Stetson in 1986. Suitcases, bags, umbrellas and scarves also carry the sign of Stetson. Military and police uniform
United States
The hat was first sold in Central City, Colorado in 1865 in a style called "Bos of the Plains."
