Linda Cahn is the founder and president of the national consulting firm, Pharmaceutical Benefit Consultants. The company helps companies, unions, government agencies and insurance companies in increasing the benefits of their recipe coverage and reducing the cost of their prescription coverage.
Cahn's expertise related to prescription coverage arises from lawsuits filed on behalf of clients against pharmaceutical benefit management companies (PBM). In 1997, he began litigation of first class action against the two largest PBMs at the time - a predecessor entity for Medco Health Solutions and CVS Caremark. As a result of the litigation and some subsequent lawsuits, he gained access to hundreds of thousands of confidential PBM documents.
Cahn has testified before the state legislative session on the proposed legislation to change the practice of PBM and increase the coverage of the prescription market. He has also conducted meetings on PBM with federal and state prosecutors, officials at the Government Accounting Office and the United States Department of Labor, and on Capitol Hill.
He is a graduate of Princeton University and Hofstra Law School, both with praise.
