Heather Mitt Feeley (born June 9, 1978), nÃÆ' à © e Heather Blaine Mitts , is a former professional American soccer defender. Mitt played college football for the University of Florida, and after that, he played professionally in the Women's Professional Soccer League (WPS); for Philadelphia Charge, Boston Breakers, Philadelphia Independence, and Atlanta Beat. He is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, and is a member of the US women's national team. He played in four games at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the US national team came second. Mitts announced his retirement from football via Twitter on March 13, 2013.

Mitts was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1978 and started playing soccer at the age of six. From 1993 to 1996, he attended St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, where he played high school soccer and helped the team score a 70-5-1 record during his time with the team. During his first season, the team won the title of the country. During his junior and senior years, Mitt won the honor of all countries.

Mitts received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and played for the women's soccer team Gatorsville Florida trainer Becky Burleigh at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition 1996-1999. Mitt was part of a line of defense that helped the Gators win their first NCAA Women's Soccer Championship in 1998. He was named the All-American third team in 1998 and the All-American first team in 1999, and became the all-time record holder of the Gator in performance (95), start (94), and minutes played (7,547). He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in advertising in 2000. He was inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame as the "Great Gator" in 2013.

Straight out of college, Mitts played for the Tampa Bay Extreme of W-League in 2000 while awaiting the launch of the new Women's Football League league.
Philadelphia Charge, 2001-03
After the launch of WUSA and its inaugural season in 2001, Mitts was designed for Philadelphia Charge. With the club, he appeared in twenty games (1,751 minutes) in his first season and added two assists. Throughout his Charge career, Mitts appeared in fifty-one games (4,414 minutes) and recorded eight assists for three seasons. He was named WUSA All-Star in 2003. Unfortunately, after the 2003 season, WUSA stopped operating.
Central and Central Florida Krush, 2005
Mitts returned to the W-League in 2005, playing frugally for Central Florida Krush while dividing his time between the United States Women's National Team. He appeared in four games (360 minutes).
WPS Years, 2009-11
After the introduction of Women's Professional Soccer, Mitt and other USWNT players Angela Hucles and Kristine Lilly were allocated to Boston Breakers on September 16, 2008. In the Women's Professional Soccer season 2009, Mitt appeared in nineteen games (all started, 1,631 minutes) and added help. After the season, Boston Breakers declared Mitts free agent.
On October 14, 2009, Mitts signed with the expansion team of WPS 2010 Philadelphia Independence, marking his return to professional football in Philadelphia after the collapse of WUSA Philadelphia Charge.
In January 2011, Mitts signed a contract with Atlanta Beat and played as a right-back during the 2011 season.
NWSL, 2013
In 2013, Mitts is allocated to Boston Breakers in the new National Women's Football League; However, he retired before the start of the season.
International
Mitt is a three-time Olympic gold medalist as a member of the US National Women's team at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2008 and 2012 and has represented the United States in over 100 international matches. He is also a member of the US national team who finished second in the 2006 Algarve Cup.
On May 12, 2007, Mitt tore his anterior ligament (ACL) in an international friendly with Canada. The injury put Mitts out of the fight for the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup.
On May 9, 2011, Mitts was appointed to the US list for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup tournament in Germany. He was on the United States women's soccer team list for the 2012 London Olympics, and played all 90 minutes of the game against Colombia in the group stage.
On March 13, 2013, Mitts officially announced his retirement from the national team as well as Breakers. He will now serve as a side reporter for the Union Union match and has become a team ambassador.

Personal life
Mitt is known for his athletic ability and performance, and as a result has explored the modeling world. In 2001, Mitts was voted sexiest player in WUSA at Playboy Online. In addition, he appeared on the cover of the Philadelphia magazine in June 2002 as one of the city's "Sexiest Lions". In 2004, she was voted "ESPN.com's Hottest Women's Athlete". She also appeared in 2005 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Mitts has held a number of television commentary jobs. He has served as studio football analyst for ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 during the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup and became a side reporter for several MLS broadcasts in 2005. In addition to football, he was also a side reporter for American college football during 2005 falling for ESPN.
After several years of on-again-off relationship again, Mitts married NFL quarterback AJ Feeley in February 2010. Feeley and Mitts welcomed a son, Connor, in 2014. Mitt and Feeley also welcomed a daughter, Blake Harper, in the spring of 2016.
Mitt runs football camps every year across the United States where he teaches the basics of football including: dribbling, juggling, foot skills, passing, receiving. It is a one-day soccer camp that teaches children to understand the basics of football and allows them to continue their growth and understanding of the sport.
