Security
Models sold in the Philippines are sold without air bags. However in the Indian market, the driver's side airbags are standard on Sportz and Magna variants (1.0L), and optionally on the Era and Magna models (0.8L). In 2016, tests conducted by the UK agency Global NCAP reward Eon (without airbags) with a 0-star rating. Many entry-level competitors sold in the Indian market also achieve this ranking. Driver protection is rated as poor and marginalized front passenger protection (albeit with a possible knee-impact hazard).
Marketing and positioning
Eon is positioned to compete with Maruti Alto in India and Suzuki Celerio in the Southeast Asian market.
Future
Since Eon's monthly sales have reached 10,000 units (half of Maruti Alto 800 and sales of Alto K10) in India, Hyundai has given a facelift car for the 2014 model year.
2017 marks the introduction of Eon 'Sports Edition'. The price of INR 3.88 lakh (Delhi's ex-showroom), the limited edition 0.8L model adds more equipment and stylish enhancements over the Era and Magna variants that serve as the base.
