The Warped Tour is a traveling rock tour that has toured the United States (including 3 or 4 stops in Canada) annually every summer since 1995. It is the largest traveling music festival in the United States, and the longest musical tour festival in North America. The first Warped tour took place in 1995, and the Vans skateboard skater became the main sponsor of the tour starting with the second tour in 1996, when it became known as the Vans Warped Tour . Although Vans continues to be the main sponsor and lend its name to the festival, other sponsors have also participated, with stages or other aspects of the festival that are sometimes named after their name.
The Warped Tour was conceived in 1995 as an alternative electric rock festival, but in 1996 began to focus on punk rock music. Although it continues to be known primarily as a punk rock festival, it has incorporated various acting genres over the years.
On November 15, 2017, Kevin Lyman announced that the 2018 Vans Warped Tour would be the last full cross-country run. Lyman hinted at a major celebration in 2019, the 25th year of the tour.

Time bands and sets are found in the inflatable lineup, or can be purchased from the stand.
Every year there is a "BBQ Band". In return for the privilege of playing on the tour, the BBQ Band prepares post-show barbecues held for bands and crew most of the night. Past BBQ Bands include Dropkick Murphys, Art of Shock and "The Fabulous Rudies". Similarly, a band, Animo (formerly DORK), has been permitted for the last four years to play on a tour in exchange for working on the setting crew. The "BBQ Band" for the 2016 tour is the Reckless Serenade band.
The tour began as a punk skate and a third wave ska tour, but then began performing mostly pop punk and metalcore action. There are also some hardcore and street punk bands, such as Casualties, the Unseen and Anti-Flag, which still play Warped Tour, as well as old bands that have played multiple tours since the beginning (Bad Religion, NOFX, etc.).)
The tour not only has one way to be formed; every show in every place has a different layout. This is arranged in the morning during the arrival of the regulated and demoted crew usually during the last show of the day. When heading to Canada, there is a bus loaded with supplies that go to Canada while the other buses contain equipment that remains in the US until the next show.
In 2013, Kevin Lyman decided to allow parents free entry to the Warped Tour. Citing issues such as transportation issues for minors and demographics of audience members open to younger people each year, Lyman decides that parents who accompany their children will be allowed into the tour for free. Parents have their own adult daycare. This is called Reverse Day Care. Adults can spend the day waiting for their children in the Reverse Day Care tents. There is plenty of seating and often fans or cooling devices to keep busy parents during the festival.

Warped Tour Impact
Warped Tour has become a launching place for many upcoming artists. This festival has been associated with bringing unknown artists such as Black Veil Brides, Avenged Sevenfold, Blink-182, Limp Bizkit, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, MGK, Katy Perry and Yelawolf into the spotlight.
The Warped Tour has given artists like Will.i.am and Black Eyed Peas a chance to perform. The Black Eyed Peas are featured on the 1999 Vans Warped Tour. According to Will.i.am, the Black Eyed Peas are the first group not to be categorized as "punk" to play on the Warped Tour.
The Vans Warped Tour appeals to a slightly different audience. The Warped Tour began as a punk-centered tour that has evolved into a festival that includes ska, pop and hip-hop. The skate scene has attracted many people to the Warped Tour. The tour includes a half pipe for the skater to glide.

Music lessons
The musicians at the Vans Warped tour gave lessons. Percussion The Marketing Council has teamed up with the Vans Warped Tour and has provided free drum lessons to the concert audience. Lessons are given in the tent of Lesson Lab. This music lesson for people who learned to play drums for the first time. Lessons using electronic drums and acoustic drums. According to PMC Advisory Board Member Billy Cuthrell, having a drum teacher from another percussion store is the "key" to the free lesson program.
In 2005, the Vans Warped tour incorporated a double stage stage consisting of two levels for the Street Drum Corps band.
Music education is a big part of the Vans Warped Tour. Over the years, Warped Tour has utilized the John Lennon Bus to achieve this. The John Lennon bus was started by Ben Roschild and Yoko Ono in 1968. The purpose of the John Lennon Bus was to educate people about the music that attended the Warped Tour. Brian Roschild is the executive director of John Lennon Bus. Basically, John Lennon Bus is a mobile studio. The demographics that buses are trying to educate are the younger generation. Not only do people from the community participate, but the artists do it too. Artists like Eminem and Bowling For Soup have visited the tour bus. Other celebrities that use the bus include Fergie from Black Eyed Peas, Natasha Bedingfield, and John Legend.
Battle of the Band
The Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands takes place on the Warped Tour every year. Over 10,000 bands tried to battle the band in 2005. The band performed on the dates of their local Warped tour and was rated by professionals from the music industry. If the bands are good in the competition, they can perform as a side action on the Ernie Ball Stage from the Vans Warped Tour.
Criticism and controversy
"Warped Tour is a place for teenagers to go and hear all their favorite bands in one day," said Rob Articleic, guitarist for Saint Alvia Cartel. "It does not make sense to be the same tour in 2007 as it was in 1997. This is a band the kids love, and the tour is smart enough to grow and adapt to it.You still get bands like Bad Religion playing, so that not like losing its roots. "
Joe Queer from The Queers states it
You play music because there is something inside you that says you have to play music. Now you get bands like Fall Out Boy that are basically made in the studio. The Warped Tour changed it. Shit. I just do not like that nonsense. Everyone in the band reminds me of the athletes I hate in high school. To me, a punk show is a sweaty little club with an audience right in front of you that knocks on a microphone booth and floods energy.
Keith Morris has stated "These kids who are on the Warped Tour, they should have no choice but to go to the military, and go to some desert somewhere and spend time in the desert, rather than have some big, mega ultra record the company gives they make lots of money and pay for their hotels and buses, make sure their hair is trendy, and that they wear the proper clothes that all kids love and use, and all the fun. "The Morris 'Circle Jerks' band will appear in the year's tour edition 2007.
In 2013 Oliver Sykes, vocalist of Bring Me the Horizon took to Twitter to declare that he is no longer allowed to start a mosh pit or death wall. Kevin Lyman takes to Twitter as well to say that members of the audience can make mosh holes and death walls but that someone in the audience should be the initiator and not a member of the band because then they take responsibility for injuries that can then lead to costly lawsuits.
On July 1, 2015, it was announced that the Front Porch Step will play a tour of Nashville, TN, allegedly harassing many young girls sexually via explicit text messages, nude photos, and sex. Many bands, including The Wonder Years, Senses Fail, Handguns, and Beartooth ask participants not to go to the McElfresh set. Singer of the Year Magic and "Soupy" Campbell, who was supposed to perform after the Front Steps Acoustic Basement Stage, asked fans to go see Man Overboard at 1:15 pm, the time of the acoustic set will take place. Lyman replied by saying,
He should have been here long enough to play his show but today's weather has made us late from schedule. He was not added to the tour, so the claim that he 'added to sell tickets' was completely unfounded.
He also said because McElfresh is still not officially accused of making a mistake, he agreed to make it appear. "If he's dangerous to anyone, he will not be here."
On July 11, 2016, the Vans Warped Tour announced that Virginia's pro-life organization Rock For Life would be one of 41 vendors on their tour schedule. Rock For Life is known for co-opting the aesthetics of punk with their logo of a fetus playing guitar, a T-shirt with the phrase "All Lives Matter". Bands like Safe To Say and Old Wounds have spoken against the organization, with Safe To Say, replying to Rock For Life tweets, saying
Yes. Every day. We are pro choice band. A tent telling young women what to do with their bodies has no place here.
On June 26, 2017, a video emerged from the punk rock band The Dickies verbally abusing members of the crowd after protests against the band, including signs that said "Our teenage girls need not be subjected to insulting jokes by a disgusting old man. "and" Punk is not a predator "happens. While Lyman initially said that the band was no longer on the Warped Tour list, he released a statement on July 1 that said the band had not been kicked off on tour and that the fight was between the band's frontman Leonard Graves Phillips and a member of the tour party.
I think it's time to put the facts as I have seen false information circulating. A video has been circulating about a confrontation between Leonard of Dickies and a Fan. The fact is - it's not Fan, but a member of the tour party. The members of the tour group stood next to the PA with signs of protesting some of the things they deemed offensive about the band's jokes, and props on stage. During one of their last songs they went to the barricade and directed the band. After a verbal attack from Leonard, members of the touring group threw a sign at Leonard, and left the area. I do not justify verbal or physical violence, anything. The Dickies, the last day of the tour is that Sunday, which is always scheduled. This is a fact of what happened and this is why I ask anyone who has trouble with others on the tour, to come sit under my tent and express their views diplomatically. On this year's tour we have many people who may disagree with each other, but as human beings, we must be able to express our point of view in a civilian way. If we have hope to advance as a society, communication will be key in moving forward.
The band conflict
Several bands left the tour due to the conflict they experienced with the tour or with another band:
- Both D12 and Esham were kicked out of the 2001 tour. D12 allegedly attacked Esham because he called Eminem's daughter in her song "Chemical Imbalance". Eminem is not there.
- The Guttermouth Band was supposed to be released from the 2004 Warped Tour for derogatory Simple Plan. The band later stated that they abandoned themselves because "that '10 or more 'the unnamed band did not match the way Guttermouth did business, and in some cases, threatened them with violence".
Sponsors
The Vans Warped tour is sponsored by Vans, and in recent years Journeys joined as a sponsor. Kevin Lyman was offered a sponsor from Calvin Klein before finally working with Vans. The tour also gets a chance to be sponsored by Samsung, which allows bands and fans to interact with each other. The schedule for the day was sent to the fans on the day of their performance. Samsung also sponsors upturned day care for the Warped tour, which allows parents to cool themselves and their kids to watch their favorite bands. Warped Tour has also partnered with other technology companies such as Cingular Wireless, Apple Computer and many others. This allows these companies to reach a younger audience. Communication manager from Memorex stated that Warped Tour allows them to reach a younger demographic because of the music that these people are "passionate about." At one point in time, Warped Tour also provides internet service participants at the festival. Chaos Mobile was formed by Kevin Lyman and John Reese from Freeze Artist Management. This is an important part of the curvy tour as it improves fan interactions among alternative rock fans and keeps the price of the tickets down.
Activism
Activism is a major component of the Vans Warped Tour. Warped Tour allows non-profit organizations such as Invisible Children, To Write Love On Her Arms, Shirts for Cure, and Keep A Breast Foundation to advocate the cause. Other causes represented on Warped Tour are Music Saves Lives and Earth Echo. Earth Echo promotes recycling. They also provide solar powered stage. Keep A Breast is another organization on Vans Warped Tour. Keep A Breast educates women about Breast Cancer and preventive measures against this disease. The organization works alongside Girlz Garage on the Vans Warped Tour. The people who donate for the purpose are given t-shirts signed by artists on tour to spread awareness of Breast Cancer.
In March 2016, it was announced that the Warped Tour will work with A Voice For The Innocent to address the problem of sex crimes in the music world.
Philanthropy
The Vans Warped Tour contributed 25 cents of each ticket sold to an organization called Hollywood Heart. The Warped Tour also gives money for relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina. Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos, (a festival) work together to donate $ 500,000
Music supplies
Bands on Warped Tour bring their own musical instruments. However, Industrial Sound has provided equipment for the band to use while on the Vans Warped Tour. Daniel Bonneau, the main voice engineer, stated that Industrial Sound is a company he "rely on" to provide equipment for the festival. Bonneau also stated that bands can not do traditional soundcheck and bands have to do line checks.
Official compilation album
The Warped Tour compilation CD is officially released annually by SideOneDummy Records to coincide with the commencement of the tour. Prior to 1998, the official release was handled by Vans through Uni Distribution in 1996 and Epitaph Records in 1997. The compilations included songs by many artists who performed on that year's tour. Some of the first compilations have titles, but since 2001 the series has been using the standard title of the format "Warped Tour & lt; year & gt; Tour Compilation." In 2002, the compilation expanded to 2 CDs totaling 50 artists, a format that has been followed by the series in subsequent years. The Warped Tour compilation album in 2002 was mapped at number 55.
In addition, Rhapsody.com's digital music service has released regular "Warped Tour Bootleg Series", with each entry focusing on one artist that appears on the tour. The previous Bootleg Series artists have included Matchbook Romance, My Chemical Romance, Bedouin Soundclash, MxPx, Initial Line, Millencolin, Avenged Sevenfold, Gogol Bordello, Motion City Soundtrack, Victim, Anti-Flag, Less than Jake, Rise Against, Joan Jett & amp; Blackhearts, Helmet, and The Academy are....
