" Never Gonna Fall in Love Again " is a song co-written and recorded by American pop rock artist Eric Carmen. The album was released as the second single from solo solo solo album entitled Carmen, the song peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in June 1976, remaining in the Top 40 for ten weeks. The song reached number one on the Billboard Easy Listening chart.
The melody of "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" is based on the third movement (Adagio) of Symphony No. 2 by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff.
In his second solo LP, Boats Against the Current , Carmen has another Top 40 hit entitled "She Does It", which is the antithesis of "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again." This is a happy answer to the loneliness and the love described in this song and its melancholy, "All By Myself" predecessor.
Should not be confused with a song of the same title, sometimes written as "Never Gonna Fall in Love (Again)" composed by Elton John and Tom Robinson, whom Robinson released as a single in 1979 and John included in his album. > 21 at 33 in 1980, or with a song from Snow Patrol's second album, When It's All More Than We Still Should Clean .

Australian singer songwriter, Mark Holden, recorded and released a May 1976 version as his debut single. The song was commercially successful, peaking at number 13 on Kent Music Report.
Background and release
Mark Holden released his debut studio album Dawn in Darkness in 1975. The album is entirely composed of original songs is a commercial failure, selling about 2,000 copies. In April 1976 Holden received a call from Colin Petersen, EMI Music Australian A & amp; R, who suggested he cover "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again". In his autobiography of 2017, Holden said to record it "is an opportunity for me to get hit". Holden filmed a video on Hunters Hill wearing white cricket, grandfather shirt and old braces. Holden promotes the song by performing a song on Countdown, where he performs a track while distributing red carnations to the audience. It became a notable performance that led to the nickname Holden "The Carnation Kid"

Unlike "All by Myself," Carmen's version of "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" was not released in Australia or the UK and therefore uncharted. However, Dana (pronounced 'Donna') reached # 31 in the UK in 1976 with the song. Her English release was mapped with the version of Carmen and Holden.
Other versions
- Legendary Frank Sinatra performed the song many times at concerts in the late 1970s, especially during the 1976 Telethon MDA. Liked the songs of Eric Carmen, he had arrangements made from both of these songs and "All By My self." He never recorded any songs.
